Beginning June 18, 2018, there will be new parking challenges presented by construction of the North Torrey Pines Living and Learning Neighborhood (NTPLLN). When NTPLLN construction begins June 18, 970 parking spaces in lots P207 and P208 will be closed and traffic area patterns and shuttle routes will change.
UC San Diego Extension students, faculty and staff have several options for traveling to and around campus locations.
Parking permits are required on the UC San Diego campus from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays and weekends. All campus parking on the weekend will require a UC San Diego-recognized parking permit, paystation payment, or app payment. Parking is free at both the University City Center location and the La Jolla Village Professional Center. If you're driving during peak commute hours, allow plenty of time for traffic congestion and for locating your campus destination and the closest parking facility.
The rate is generally $3 per hour, up to a maximum of $30 per day (during daytime hours) - More Detailed Parking Fees.
Daily/hourly permits are available from the Parking Pay Station machines located in the parking lot or online via the UC San Diego Parking App
For more information about parking on campus and other permit options, please contact the UC San Diego Parking & Transportation office at (858) 534-4223 or visit parking.ucsd.edu.
Single-use permits from pay stations allow parking privileges in the following spaces:
To park in lots P001 - P010 and Lot P354, you need an access stamp or sticker. Special parking permits are required when parking in the Gilman Parking Structure.
For more information about parking on campus, please contact the UC San Diego Parking & Transportation office at (858) 534-4223 or visit parking.ucsd.edu.
If you receive a parking ticket, you must respond within 21 days of the issue date.
The adjudication office encourages those who believe they were parked legally at the time a citation was issued to submit a written appeal. Successful appeals clearly demonstrate the citation was issued in error and often includes supporting documentation.
Note: If you have trouble with the online system, you can email your appeal to email@example.com or pay a citation by mail with check or money order. The postmark will serve as the payment date.
If you do not pay or appeal your ticket:
Several unpaid citations can lead to:

There are a variety of parking permits available for purchase at the UC San Diego Parking & Transportation office located in the Gilman Parking Structure. Permits are no longer sold through UC San Diego Extension.
To purchase a parking permit, you will need a valid driver's license and your vehicle information, including make, model and license plate number. For more information on permits, visit UC San Diego Parking & Transportation.
Extension students may save on parking by purchasing individual single day permits ($4 per day; limit 10 per quarter; purchase and print online ahead of time) or quarterly night/weekend permits ($43 per quarter; purchase online or at the UCSD Parking office) Both of these options are valid in S spots until 4:30 and then A, B, and V after 4:30.
If you are parked at the La Jolla Campus, UC San Diego's Community Service Program can send someone to accompany you while walking to and/or from your car, your evening class or a campus activity. The service is free and available from 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. daily. Escorts are equipped with two-way radios linking them directly to the campus police. For assistance, call (858) 534-HELP (4357) or visit the website.
Please be advised that you park at UC San Diego and University City Center Extension campuses at your own risk. UC San Diego Extension is not responsible for any loss or damage to vehicles and/or property incurred in parking facilities.
