Bredeck, Elizabeth
Elizabeth Bredeck is an instructor at the UC San Diego English Language Institute. Before teaching English, she worked in the UC San Diego Literature Department for 13 years, designing and teaching undergraduate courses including intermediate German (integrated skills) and seminars on topics including German national identity, folk and fairy tale, and Kafka. She introduced "German for Reading Knowledge" to the curriculum, supervised German teaching assistants and was a reader for the AP German language exam. Her 1992 book on the language philosopher, Fritz Mauthner, grew out of an interest in the philosophical debate over the relationship between language and thought.
