Presenter Biography
Shane Christensen earned an M.Phil.
in International Relations from Cambridge
University, where he was a Fulbright Scholar, and
an M.P.A. from the Kennedy School, where he was
a Harvard Presidential Scholar. He is the first U.S.
diplomatic fellow at the Institute of the Americas,
based on the UCSD campus. He comes to the
Institute from Porto Alegre, Brazil, where he was
the U.S. Consul General responsible for diplomatic
relations with southern Brazil. Christensen has
served at the U.S. embassies in Mexico City,
Havana, and Kabul; the United Nations in New
York; the Organization for Economic Cooperation
and Development in Paris; and the U.S. Consulate
General in Dubai.
