Front End Web Development Portfolio
This capstone course, serves as the culminating and integrative experience of the courses offered in the Front End Web Development certificate program.
Students will create a portfolio website utilizing the techniques taught in:
- HTML5 & CSS
- HTML5 & Javascript
- HTML5 & Jquery
In addition students will be introduced to project management techniques such as agile and waterfall and will be asked to utilize them for the course long production of their projects.
These concepts will be implemented when students produce their projects with iterative cycles of feedback from both their peers and the instructor.
By the completion of this course students will have created a portfolio site with examples of their work.

- Overview of digital project management
- Wire framing portfolio site
- Interactive prototyping and lean project management
- Designing the site and front end coding

Software:
A modern browser like Chrome or Firefox
Any Text Editor. Here are some recommendations:
Hardware: Linux, Mac or Windows machine with minimum 4 GB
Course typically offered: Online, Winter and Summer Quarters
Prerequisites: Courses Introduction to Front End Technologies, Introduction to HTML and CSS, and Introduction to JavaScript OR a working knowledge of these concepts are assumed.

Donna Sandsmark combines a background in engineering, programming and design to create a learning environment that covers all aspects of web design. A lead instructor in the Web Design and Interactive Media program at The Art Institute, Sandsmark also works as a freelance developer creating websites, content management systems and mobile apps for companies nationwide. Sansdmark received a bachelor's in engineering and management from Penn State University and a master's in computer science from University of Southern California.
